Description

Wilhelmus Adrianus van Berkel was a butcher in Rotterdam in the late 19th century. He invented a cutting edge slicer then evolved his business to manufacture scales. This fine Berkel scale dates to the 1950 s and was used by merchants including butcher s, fishmongers, boulangers and charcuterie specialists.

It is made with mixed materials including stainless steel.

Functional although not calibrated.
